Hyderabad: All India Majlis e Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has become the first political party to have an officially verified account on TikTok, a social media app for creating and sharing videos.

Using TikTok is part of the party’s strategy of reaching out to first-time, young internet users in India.

The AIMIM’s official TikTok account has more than 7,000 followers and over 60,000 likes on close to 75 of its videos. Since the platform gives a user an opportunity to express and share a message in a concise manner and make it funny at the same time, AIMIM plans to utilise it to take forward its agenda among young Indians.

AIMIM fans are using the platform to regularly share quirky messages, the most popular being lip-synced videos of Owaisi bothers’ speeches.
