3 minors try to overtake a lorry, 2 killed

Hyderabad: Three minors who were triple-riding on a two-wheeler on their way home to Kukatpally from Nampally rammed into a lorry late on Thursday night in front of Shadan College. Two of them died.


The rider, Gopal, died on the spot and Shoaib, the pillion-rider sitting in the middle, died on way to the hospital. Both of them were 15 years old. The second pillion-rider is undergoing treatment. All of them are Class X students, and had gone to Nampally for dinner.


The accident occurred at about 1.45 am. Saifabad inspector Ch Saidi Reddy said they were trying to overtake a lorry but rammed into the extreme right end of the vehicle.


The lorry driver fled the scene. Saifabad police registered a case under IPC Section 304(a) (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt) and investigation is underway. The police handed over the bodies to the families after the postmortem.
