Senior IPS officer M. Nageswar Rao Gets New Posting

A 1986-batch IPS officer from Odisha cadre, M Nageswa Rao held the position of interim chief of the CBI twice.


Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer M. Nageswar Rao, who was posted as the CBI additional director during the CBI vs CBI fight, has been appointed Director-General, Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guard. A government order on the transfer said it had been done by temporarily downgrading the post level of additional director-general which is Level 15 of the pay matrix.


The officer is likely to retire by 2020. Mr Rao is from Mangapet of Warangal district. He is a chemistry post graduate from Osmania University. He did research at IIT-Madras before joining the IPS in 1986 from Odisha cadre. Elsewhere, Mr Sachin Badsha, a 2004 Gujarat IPS cadre officer, took charge as chief aerodrome security officer of Shamshabad airport.
