Warangal to get a facelift

WARANGAL: A blueprint for the all-round development of Warangal city at the cost of Rs 1,000 crore is on the cards.


This was announced by panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao who inaugurated the renovated Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) office in Hanamkonda on Thursday.


Mr Dayakar Rao said, “Development works under Smart Cities Mission, AMRUT and HRIDAY will give the city a facelift in the coming days. The Bhadrakali lakefront promenade project will be one of the major attractions in the country. Land acquisition process for the inner ring road (IRR) is also underway. The Padmakshi temple and the historical Jain site in Hanamkonda are going to be developed in such a way that it will attract tourists from across the world. The historic Warangal fort and the Thousand Pillar Temple are going to have more prominence once these works are completed.”


The KUDA office was renovated at a cost of Rs 5 crore.


Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao, legislators Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, D. Vinay Bhaskar, Nannapuneni Narender, Thatikonda Rajaiah, Aroori Ramesh, KUDA chairman Marri Yadava Reddy, Warangal urban and Rural district collectors Prashanth J. Patil and M. Haritha were among others present.
