Two held for stealing an idol

Hyderabad: Two employees of a wine shop, who have stolen the Panchaloha idol of a goddess installed in a house at Malkajgiri, were arrested by the police on Monday.


According to the police, a complaint was received from one Y. Suryakanth, a retired government employee that an idol of a goddess that was installed inside his house at Anandbagh was stolen by unidentified persons when he went to his son’s house at Kondapur on March 17. A case was registered.


During the investigation,  from the evidence that pointed at the two accused — Md Mujeeb, 45 and B. Sampath, 25 — both employed at Vanadurga wine shop and residents of Anandbagh, the two were apprehended on Monday. The stolen Panchaloha idol was recovered from them.
