10-month-old baby dies after wall collapsed on her

A1 0-month-old girl, died when a 70-ft high under-construction wall collapsed on her in her house. The incident happened at Hakimpet on Wednesday morning.  The builder and owner of the house have been booked for death due to negligence. The baby identified as Mahin Qureshi, daughter of Khasim Qureshi, slaughterhouse owner, was asleep in the house when the wall collapsed on her.

According to the police, the incident occurred when a worker was watering the newly constructed wall. The wall was built without proper safety precautions on the other side of the victim’s house. The victim’s house had a roof made of asbestos cement sheets. The neighbour had constructed a parapet wall on the second floor balcony of  the building.
