Telangana voters list to be released on Mar 25

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Rajat Kumar on Wednesday said the final voters list will be released on March 25. Around 58 nominations were filed by candidates of different political parties so far and Returning Officers will receive nominations till March 25 except on March 21 (Holi), March 23 (fourth Saturday) and March 24 (Sunday) all declared holidays, Kumar said.

The CEO conducted the meeting with political parties and gave some suggestions in view of the Lok Sabha elections; Telangana goes to polls on April 11. Around 328 complaints were received so far on cVIGIL app, which was introduced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to receive complaints from people on any violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Three complaints were pending and the highest number of 75 complaints were received from Nizamabad district. “We explained the guidelines of the Election Commission to leaders of political parties,” Kumar said.

Explaining some of the guidelines, which came from Ministry of Environment and ECI, the CEO stressed that parties should not use plastic, polythene and non-bio gradable materials in their campaigning. Also, candidates should not use loudspeakers from 10 pm to 6 am, Kumar said.
