YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Sunday. In the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the YSR Congress has achieved a landslide victory in Andhra Pradesh. At national level, the BJP has won a huge victory in the Lok Sabha elections. It is customary after winning an election and taking charge as Chief Minister to meet the Prime Minister.

But Mr Reddy will meet the PM before taking oath as Chief Minister on May 30, the same day that Mr Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s eagerness to meet the PM indicates that he will maintain cordial relations with the Centre and the PM. He is likely to invite Mr Modi to attend his swearing-in ceremony.

YSRC sources said that he will seek an appointment with Mr Modi at a later date to request granting of the special status to Andhra Pradesh.
