Class seven student killed as truck hits auto in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (IANS) A class seven student of a private school died and five others were injured when a truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw carrying the school children here on Tuesday.

According to police, the accident occurred in Habshiguda around 7.50 a.m. when eight students in the auto-rickshaw were on their way to school.

Eye witnesses said the three-wheeler flipped after being hit and one of the students was thrown out who was crushed under a sand-laden truck. The deceased was identified as 13-year-old Avanti Kumar.

Avanti Kumar's brother Vedant Kumar was among the injured in the accident. All were students of the Bhashyam School in Habshiguda.

Truck driver escaped from the scene. A case was registered against him at the Uppal police station under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
