Hyderabad: Succumbing the pressure from revenue employees, the government on Sunday initiated the process to transfer 378 tahsildars back home.

They had been transferred to other stations during the elections, and had been lobbying to be shifted to their home postings. After the killing of Abdullapurmet tahsildar Ch Vijaya Reddy, the revenue staff had boycotted duties for eight days and that put pressure on the government.

Municipal administration minister K.T. Rama Rao met the revenue staff and assured them that their grievances would be resolved at the earliest.

Following the assurance, Special Chief Secretary, revenue, Somesh Kumar on Sunday issued the orders transferring the tahsildars.
