K. T. Rama Rao for 'model' tag to 7 new municipalities

Hyderabad: Municipalities of Medchel constituency should be transformed as model municipalities, said municipal minister K. Taraka Rama Rao on Wednesday. The minister conducted a review on the development activities in the newly-formed seven municipalities along with labour minister Ch Malla Reddy at the office of urban finance and infrastructure development office on Wednesday.

The minister reviewed the prevailing conditions at the seven municipalities and interacted with the municipal commissioners. He asked the commissioners to provide better services of sanitation, parks, plantation and drinking water supply to the people.

The commissioners were also asked to set up a civil service centre in each municipality to develop swargadhamams (crematoriums), reserve space in layouts, install CCTV cameras, setting up of dump yards and to organise waste management programmes.
