Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday directed irrigation officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for supplying water to the erstwhile Nizamabad district for drinking and irrigation purposes.

The Chief Minister issued this order after legislators from the combined Nizamabad district met him in the chambers of Legislative Assembly Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy in the Assembly.

KCR said, “Since there is less availability of water in Nizam Sagar and Singur dams this year, villages under the jurisdiction of these projects will have to be supplied water through alternative methods.” He ordered officials to prepare alternative / temporary plans for the purpose.”
