New Motor vehicles Act: No implementation in Telangana at Present

Hyderabad: Telangana is one such state which has taken a decision not to implement the new motor vehicles act at present.


It may be mentioned that this act makes provisions imposing heavy fines and jail punishment in case traffic rules are violated by the commuters.


Not only Telangana State, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and few other states have also postponed the implementation of new act.


An official of traffic police told that there is a provision for revising the rates of fines. A committee is revising the new act. Traffic police have been given instructions not to implement the new act until further orders.
