Eight Maoists arrested in Charla Mandal

Bhadrachalam: The police took into custody eight Maoists from the Kaliveru Crossroads in Charla mandal on Thursday.


The arrested members include Paddam Idamaiah, Madakam Somadu, Podiyam Chennaiah, Rava Mallaiah, Madakam Budra, Komuram Bhujanga Rao, Thurram Ramesh and Somaiah. All of them are residents of Chattisgarh.


It is alleged that the group travelling in a jeep was carrying explosives for Maoists in Chattisgarh. The police recovered about 30 gelatine sticks and eight detonators. The members were brought to the court in Kothagudem.
