Biker snatches a gold chain from a woman

Hyderabad: A bike-borne man snatched a three-and-a-half tolas gold chain from a woman pedestrian at Meerpet on Wednesday.


The police registered a case of robbery and are analysing the CCTV footage to identify the accused and the vehicle he was driving.


According to Meerpet police, the victim was identified as D. Rajyalaxmi, 53, a housewife from New Gayatrinagar.


On Wednesday, Ms Rajyalaxmi along with her neighbour went to a temple at New Gayatrinagar to attend prayers.


While returning home on foot, at around 9 am, an unidentified person on a scooter going in the opposite direction snatched her gold mangalasutra and drove away from the spot.


The victim told the police  that she can identify the accused if she sees him again.


The police officials, basing on the complaint by the victim, registered a case of robbery and said that a team has been assigned the job to crack the case as soon as possible, and meanwhile, the footage from the CCTV cameras at the scene is being verified to identify the accused and the vehicle used in the offence.
