Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman was found dead under suspected circumstances her under Pet Basheerbad police station limits on Thursday. Nirmala Kumari aka Manju, daughter of Sureshchand of Hurla village in Rajasthan was got married to Sathosh Kumar, a resident of Srikrishna Nagar. It is learned that Nirmala called up her elder sister Mallika on March 26 saying that her in-laws were harassing her to bring Rs 5 lakh additional dowry.
On March 19, Nirmala's parents received a call Santhosh who said that their daughter consumed poison and was dead while undergoing treatment in a hospital. However, Sureshchand who arrived at her daughter's home lodged a complaint with the police against Sathosh alleging his daughter was dead after being harassed for dowry. An investigation is underway.
