Of the 19,000 young people trained by the Telangana Jagruthi over the past three years, 15,000 have found jobs, said TRS Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha. The foundation aims to train one lakh youth in 10 years.

Telangana Jagruthi provides training to youth in 30 different courses in 14 different sectors.

Denying that the organisation accepts funds from the state government, Ms Kavitha said, “Telangana Jagruthi has aligned with the Centre as part of the National Skill Development Corporation of India and is not associated with any state funds.” She said Telangana Jagruthi would be collaborating with Unicef, UN-Global Impact and other international organisations.

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan felicitated the “Waterman of India”, Dr Rajendra Singh with the Telangana Jagruthi Lifetime Achievement award. The conference concluded on Sunday at HICC.
