Best parliamentarian award to KCR's daughter

Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP Kalvakutla Kavitha emerged as one of the top 25 best Parliament members for the term of 2014-19 in the country, to be awarded with the Shresth Saansad award by national monthly magazine Fame India-Asia Post. She will be felicitated during a grand award function to be organised at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on January 31.

Kavitha was selected for the award for her exemplary work as a Parliamentarian under Adarsh (ideal) category by the Delhi-based monthly magazine on Parliamentary affairs. Interestingly, she is the only female Parliamentarian and only second Parliamentarian from South India, to receive the award. Congress floor leader in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge who represents Karnataka was also selected for the award under Utkrusht (excellent) category.

The 25 Parliament members were selected for the award through a nation-wide survey besides information available with the Parliament based on 10 different parameters including their performance in the Parliament and also outside the Parliament among their constituents.
