Time and again, Tamil films are proving their worth at the box office not only for their mass entertainment capabilities but also for their ability to make audiences go out with a feeling that they have watched something new. And it happened other day as well.
Other day we have Nagarjuna's Officer, Raj Tarun's Rajugadu and Vishal's Abhimanyudu hitting the cinemas. While the two straight Telugu films received flak from audiences and critics, Vishal's movie won all the attention. In a way, the characterisation of Vishal is similar to what we have seen that of Allu Arjun in Naa Peru Surya. But while Bunny's film lacked that serious subplot, here in Vishal's movie director came up with a brilliant one.
In Abhimanyudu, the newest ways of how some thieves are stealing personal data in the digital space, and how hackers are lifting money from bank accounts are shown quite well. Many Telugu folks got connected to this and they are wondering how come Telugu heroes and director are not coming up with such interesting themes in their films.
Definitely, this Friday taught a big lesson to Tollywood when it comes to picking new stories. Because stars don't matter these days as long as stories are not piquing interest. Let's see if this will change the way our writers come up with new ideas in the upcoming days.
