Thunderstorms likely in parts of south coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema

Amaravati, Dec 7 (IANS) Parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning on Monday and Tuesday, the Met office said.

However, no rain is forecast for the next three days after Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area over the Gulf of Mannar has become less marked.

"However, associated cyclonic circulation persists over the same area and now extends up to 3.1 km above the mean sea level," said a Meteorological Department official.

The cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal, adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean and south Andaman Sea extends up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level.

On Sunday, Kavali, Nellore, Arogyavaram and Tirupati received 4 mm, 32mm, 2 mm and 7 mm rainfall respectively.

In Bhimavaram and its vicinity in West Godavari district, in villages such as Chinamiram, Pedamiram, Bondada, Seesali, Kalla, Kallakuru and others, sunny winter days are prevailing.
