Andhra tableau reflects Kuchipudi, Kondapalli handicrafts

The Andhra Pradesh tableau will reflect the culture, tradition and lifestyle of people showcasing the Tirumala Tirupati Brahmotsavam, classical Kuchipudi dance, Kondapalli handicrafts and Kalankari paintings using natural colours in the Republic Day parade.

The front portion of the tableau is designed with the elephant ambary and Dasavatharalu of Kondapalli toys.

The middle portion will showcase the ancient Kuchipudi dance form, including Bhama kalapam and Srinivasa kalyanam. The rear portion will reflect the Tirumala temple.

Both sides of the tableau will show case the celestial procession of Brahmotsavam of Tirumala with Seshavahanam, Chandraprabha and Suryaprabha in which Lord Venkateswara is taken in a procession under an umbrella with Chekkabajana on the backdrop.

"The Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara being organized by Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam attracts lakhs of devotees round the globe," said a senior government officer.

Lord Balaji is taken in a procession on various vahanams (vehicles) in Tiru Mada streets around the temple premises during the nine-day event.

The Kuchipudi dance developed by Siddendra Yogi of Kuchipudi village in Krishna district in 14th century won world acclaim with its ancient dance form.

"The craftsmanship of artisans of Kondapalli is reflected in Kondapalli toys made through light weight Puniki wood available in Vijayawada's Kondapalli forest," the officer said.

The Kondapalli toys in various forms including elephant ambary have won the appreciation of people across the world.
