Vijayawada to host RSS meet for the first time

Vijayawada: Vijayawada will host its first-ever national meet of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from July 11 to 13. The RSS is expected review its ongoing activities across the country at the meet.


It will also review the performance of affiliated organisations like Viswa Hindu Parishad and others. RSS sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat will chair the review meetings. Mr Bhagwat arrived in the city ahead of the meetings and offered prayers at the Kanakadurga temple here.


Briefing mediapersons on the meetings, AP sanghchalak Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Raju said that in addition to the organisational activities, the meet will discuss RSS activities in different fields for social transformation. He said that the RSS was working on grameen vikas, samajik samarasata, gou samvardhan and samaji sadbhav. Mr Raju has said that RSS had recently taken up another important subject, “Paryavaran”.


He said that all national and states organising secretaries of the RSS will participate in the meet.


Mr Raju said that Mr Bhagawat had arrived the city on Sunday to prepare the groundwork for the meet.
