New JEO of TTD takes charge in Tirumala temple

Tirupati: P. Basanth Kumar assumed charge as the new Joint Executive Officer of Tirupati and also additional charge as the Tirumala JEO at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala.


Following the temple tradition, earlier, he had the darshan of Lord Bhu Varaha Swamy and later,  entered the Tirumala temple through Supadham. Initially, he took charge as Tirupati JEO at the designated Muhurat and had darshan of Lord Balaji.


After the darshan, he was rendered Vedasirvachanam at Ranganayakula mandapam by the vedic priests and temple Dy EO


P. Harindranath offered him Theertha Prasadams and a laminated photo frame of Lord. Balaji.


Later, Mr. Basanth Kumar took full additional charge (FAC) as the JEO of Tirumala from the outgoing Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju at the Ranganayakula Mandapam.


Speaking on this occasion, he said  getting an opportunity to serve the Lord and pilgrims was a rare thing and said he would  put in the best of his abilities to live up to the expectations of the devotees.


The JEO then visited Pedda Jeeyangar Math in Tirumala. Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar Swamy offered him Asirvacha-nam. The JEO also offered prayers at the temple of Bedi Anjaneya Swamy.
