Jagan Mohan Reddy extends Amma Vodi Scheme to inter students

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday extend his ambitious Amma Vodi Scheme to intermediate students also.


Initially, the educational scheme had aimed to ensure education for every poor kid till Class 10 by providing monetary incentive.


Mr Reddy, who conducted a review meeting with education officials on Thursday,   instructed the officials to provide fee reimbursement for every three months as making it an annual affair would put students at lot of inconvenience.


He ordered the officials to appoint vice-chancellors to the universities in the state within 30 days after constituting search committees at the earliest.


He said efforts should be taken to strengthen public universities including filling up existing vacancies by the yearend and said Central tribal University and Tribal Medical College would set up in Araku.
