#Nirbhaya posters at the bus stop where it all started

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS) On the day when a Delhi court issued the death warrant against all four convicted in Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, the bus stop where it all started -- the gruesome and inhuman chain of events started in 2012 -- was partially covered with posters, some hailing the judgement while others highlighting the state of women security in the country.

"Deri se hua lekin sahi faisla hua #Nirbhaya," (It might be late, but its the right verdict) one of the hand made posters on the Munirka/Family planning Association of India bus stop read.

"Justice delayed then Justice completed #Nirbhaya," another handmade poster read.

Ever since the posters were pasted by unknown people here at the bus stop, the passersby and the locals have been taking photographs of the stop, while some others even posed with them.

Even though most of the posters on the stop hailed the judgement, some others took sarcastic route to comment on the state of women security in the country.

"Mahilao ka samman hamara Samman #Nirbhaya (Women's respect is our respect)," one of those posters read.

"Ek Nirbhaya ko to mil gya nyay, aur kitno ko nyay jaane kb milega. Asli nyay hoga uss dinn jab koi aur Nirbhaya na bane #Nirbhaya (One Nirbhaya has got justice but when will others get justice. Real justice will be done when no one else face rape)," another poster read.

On the route that was used by the private bus in which Nirbhaya was brutally gang raped and tortured on December 16, 2012, which led to her death, the situation remains as it was.

There are no police presence or barricade -- the bus stops on the route still deserted and no police patrolling party could be found nearby when IANS took the route to find ground reality after 7 years of the incident.

Six accused were arrested and charged with sexual assault and murder. One of the accused was a minor and appeared before a juvenile justice court, while another accused committed suicide in Tihar Jail.

The four other convicts against whom on Tuesday death warrants were issued are Pawan Gupta, Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Thakur.
