New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and demanded Rs 13,000 crore for the national capital in the next Budget.

"Today, in a meeting with Sitharaman, demanded Rs 13 thousand crores for Delhi in the next budget, which includes a demand of Rs 1,250 crore for the municipal corporations," Sisodia tweeted.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, since it came to power in Delhi in 2015, had been demanding more funds for the city from the Centre.

The Delhi government said the Centre has not enhanced Delhi's share in the central taxes, which has been stagnating at Rs 325 crore since 2001-02.

Earlier this year, Sisodia, along with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, met Sitharaman soon after she became the Finance Minister and had demanded an increase in the allocation for the city and separate funds for local bodies.
