Over 1200 athletes register for Elite Pro Basketball Wildcard Try-outs

New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) Elite Pro Basketball League -- India's first-of-its-kind 5x5 Pro Basketball League -- recently announced that they were going to organise two wildcard try-outs.

Over 1200 athletes have registered till now making it the India's biggest open basketball try-outs. Chennai and Delhi are the two cities where these try-outs will be held.

The Chennai try-out will be held between October 8-10 while the Delhi try-out will be held between October 28 to November 3.

Organised by Elite Pro Basketball Pvt Ltd, the league has already signed 12 marquee players and the organisers have signed another 100-odd players who would be playing in the league.

Ever since the open Wildcard Try-outs were announced on their social media, the team has received immense response and even after the closing of the deadline they are receiving calls asking for extension of the dates.

Talking about the same, CEO of Elite Pro Basketball Pvt. Ltd Sunny Bhandarkar said, "A lot of people who couldn't make it to the try-outs had reached out to us asking if we could hold another try-out as they wanted to be a part of the biggest Basketball League in India. Hence, we decided to have two try-outs to give budding basketball players to showcase their talent.

"The response we have got is massive and this gives us immense happiness that we are heading in the right direction."

Adding further he said, "We want to provide a platform to basketball athletes to showcase their skill and become professional. Through this league and everyone's support we want to revolutionize the sport of Basketball in India and we will leave no stone unturned till we achieve this goal."
