Omicron cases in India are increasing at a slow-rate daily. 2 more Omicron cases have been reported in India. These two cases are from Gujarat State. On the 4th of this month, a man traveling from Zimbabwe to Jamnagar in Gujarat contracted Omicron. Two other people who were in contact with him were tested and found to be suffering from the Omicron variant on Friday. Wife of a Zimbabwean man, who accompanied him and her brother-in-law also confirmed omicron positive in Jamnagar. This brings the number of Omicron victims in Gujarat to three.
However, Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner Vijay Kumar said the three had no symptoms and were admitted to the hospital and their health was stable. On the other hand, the total number of Omicron cases in the country has reached 25. The highest number of cases were reported in Maharashtra (10), Rajasthan (9), Gujarat (2), Karnataka (2) and Delhi (1). To date, this variant has expanded to 57 countries worldwide, including India.
