Hyderabad: Pro-statehood activists filed a complaint against Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at the Jubilee Hills police station, alleging that he had said that the Telangana agitation was taken up by “drunkards.” They staged protests in front of his house in Banjara hills and party office in Jubilee Hills. “Once they banned liquor the agitation was over,” the former actor allegedly said.

An activist said Mr Kalyan’s remarks linked the agitation to alcohol which was derogatory and had hurt the feeling of activists who fought for a separate state.
