Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh for the accident of a Unnao rape victim. The BJP MLA Kuldip Singh Sengar is an accused in the case.

The rape victim was badly hurt while her two accompanying aunts died when a truck — without registration number — collide with their car.

Mr Owaisi also criticised the BJP for allowing MLA Kuldip Singh Sengar to continue in the party in spite of him being accused of raping a girl.

The AIMIM chief said he was not surprised about the accident as the girl had already expressed threat to her life and liberty and said that she does not trust police and demanded a CBI inquiry.

He said the Sunday’s road mishap was not an accident and the BJP should take it seriously.

He said the road accident was an attempt to silence the voice of a rape victim. He said while you were showing concern for the Muslim women on triple talaq, you have failed to protest a rape victim.
