Hyderabad: After he resigned as Chief Minister, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu for the first time met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Mr Naidu had faxed his resignation on May 23.

Sources said Mr Chandrababu Naidu called on the Governor to convey his thanks for his cooperation during the last five years and discussed the political situation in AP and the country.

This is Mr Naidu’s second visit to Hyderabad after the election results.

He and his son, former minister Nara Lokesh, were to fly to Hyderabad on Thursday night but the flight was diverted to Bengaluru due to bad weather. Mr Naidu reached Hyderabad after midnight.

Mr Naidu had planned to go abroad with his family for a short period but cancelled the visit in view of the AP Assembly session which will start from June 12.

Mr Naidu has decided to visit Hyderabad once in two weeks. He will stay in Hyderabad for four days.
