The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) invited various firms to operate e-autos improving the first and last mile connectivity at JNTU, KPHB, Erragadda, SR Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Victoria Memorial, Habsiguda, Khairatabad, Durgam Cheruvu and Hitec City. The firms offering least fare per km will be given priority and will have a contract of five years. To ensure the safety of the passenger, the e-autos will be designed with a GPS tracking system which will track the vehicle's movement.
A special helpline number will also be provided for the passengers to inquire about the services or file grievances. It is also learned that the e-auto drivers will have a special uniform and are penalised if any complaints lodged against them.
