Maha Shivaratri jatara in Vemulawada on March 3,4 and 5

Vemulawada:The district administration has decided to organise Maha Shivaratri jatara of Rajarajeshwara Swamy, Vemulawada, in a big way. The three-day jatara will be held from March 3 to 5. A coordination committee meeting was held in the temple town on Tuesday. Headed by the district collector A Venkatrama Reddy, the committee discussed various measures to be taken for the convenience of pilgrims during the period of the jatara.


Representatives of various departments participated in the meeting and expressed their views asking the committee to adopt measures for the smooth conduct of the festival. Speaking on the occasion, the collector wanted the officials to complete all arrangements ten days ahead of the start of the jatara. The Collector sought the advice of officers to provide better transportation, electricity, policing, sanitation and other facilities.


There was no limit of funds and funds were only secondary for any such activities, the collector said. Promising to provide sufficient funds, he wanted the officers to come up with new ideas.


The mistakes done last year should not be repeated this time and new ideas should be in place for efficient delivery mechanism, he said and wanted the officers to coordinate with each other and make the event a big success. Local MLA Ch Ramesh Babu, Superintendent of Police Rahul Hegde, Executive Officer D Rajeshwar, and others participated in the meeting.
