Hyderabad metro sets a new record

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad metro rail broke its own record by registering 2.4 lakh passengers travelling on Friday increasing the Sankranti rush. On the new year day, the metro witnessed 2.10 lakh passengers taking the ride. However, the new record was made with people preferring the metro train for heading to Secunderabad and Nampally railway stations on Friday to travel to their native places. "The Hyderabad Metro Rail has witnessed a record number of passengers for the first time," said NVS Reddy, managing director of HMR. Heavy passenger rush was witnessed at Miyapur, JNTU, Kukatpally Housing Board, Ameerpet, Secunderabad and LB Nagar stations.
