Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy crosses Rs 200 crore gross mark

The amount that people spend to watch a movie comes across as a 'gross' figure and now the audiences have spent more than 200 crores rupees already to watch this magnum opus "Sye Raa" on the silver screen.

It has been 9 days for the release of Sye Raa at the box office and we could say it is an extended week as films are often counted from Friday to Friday basis. In this long week, the magnum opus featuring Megastar Chiru in the titular role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy has collected nearly 225 crores 'gross' from the worldwide box office.

In Telugu states alone, Sye Raa managed to collect nearly 160 crores gross from the theatres across all the centres, while remaining territories like USA, Karnataka and North added the rest of the figures. While the producers will be pocketing nearly 120 crores share from the said 'gross of 225 crores easily, it is a feat that Megastar Chiranjeevi achieved at an age when many heroes often take retirement.

Had the film's emotional quotient been somewhat better, the result would have been more resounding. All said and done, Chiranjeevi is such a driving force even after 9 years of hiatus from films and maybe we should appreciate the love people have for him as their silver screen idol.
