Water dispute: Andhra, Telangana CMs attend Apex Council meet

Amaravati/New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday joined online an Apex Council meeting called to resolve the water dispute between the two southern states.

Reddy joined the meeting virtually from New Delhi while Rao connected from Hyderabad.

The meeting is chaired by Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

In the meeting, the Andhra government has decided it would strongly voice its stance on the water issues.

Reddy would highlight the irrigation and drinking water needs of the Rayalaseema region and Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh.

He would also talk about other important irrigation projects.

Reddy is accompanied by Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar and Irrigation Principal Secretary Adityanath Das.
