Kadapa: Leaders of all the political parties in Kadapa district are not happy with the Budget presented in the Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on Friday.

Telugu Desam district president R. Srinvasa Reddy said that there was nothing new in the Budget. He said there was no concrete promise made with regard to improving the conditions in Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state.

Rayalaseema Communist Party president Ravishankar Reddy said the Budget was disappointing as there was no mention of Kadapa Steel Plant. “The BJP-led government has neglected Rayalaseema intentionally,” he said.

PCC vice president N. Tulasi Reddy said there was no mention of funds for the multi-purpose Polavaram project and allocation to Andhra Pradesh. “The Centre is doing injustice to AP,” he said. CPM state leader G. Chandrasekhar said the Budget sent signals on the likelihood of privatisation of the education and medical sectors. There was no welfare scheme announced for farmers, he added.
