Cancer patient kills the son and Hangs herself

Visakhapatnam: A 38-year-old woman suffering from blood cancer killed her 12-year-old son and then committed suicide in her home at HB Colony under New Port Police Station limits in Vizag on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Jayanti Naga Mallika and J. Kaushik. Naga Mallika’s husband Sri Rama Sastri had gone out for some chores and returned home after their daughter left for college.

Upon returning home, he found his wife and son hanging in the kitchen and bedroom respectively.

According to police, Jayanti was suffering from blood cancer and was depressed after her health deteriorated.

Police suspects that she killed her son and hanged him before she took her own life. Police sent the bodies for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
