Avanti Srinivas says Padayatra made Jagan a polished leader

Visakhapatnam: YSRC Bheemili MLA Avanti Srinivas on Monday said that that party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has gained a lot of experience from his marathon padayatra and that has made him a polished leader.

He also informed that the party will focus on the local body elections.

Speaking to media persons in Vizag on Monday, Mr Srinivas said, “Jagan has gained experience and that helped him to be more seasoned. That experience has helped him to capture power in the state with a landslide victory winning 151 of the 175 Assembly. This is not an easy thing and no other leader can win these many seats. We have lost in some constituencies with a very low margin of votes. The party will now concentrate on the local body elections that will be held soon.”

Explaining about shifting to YSRC from Telugu Desam, Mr Avanti said, “I had not joined YSRC for my selfishness. I had done a lot of development in Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency after I was elected. I had differed with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over staying in Telugu Desam. But, he never responded for my requests regarding Special Category Status and other issues. So, I quit the party. My immediate goal is to develop Bheemili constituency and I will do it. There are no corruption allegations against me.”
