Srinagar, March 22 (IANS) The ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) will turn the state into an "open air prison", former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Friday.
Reacting to the central government's ban, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted: "Yasin Malik renounced violence as a way of resolving the J&K issue a long time ago.
"He was treated as a stakeholder in a dialogue initiated by then PM (Atal Bihari) Vajpayeeji. What will a ban on his organisation achieve? Detrimental steps like these will only turn Kashmir into an open air prison."
