Tamil Nadu Man Beheads Wife and Her Partner, Surrenders With Severed Heads

A shocking double murder took place in Tamil Nadu’s Kallakurichi district on Thursday. A 60-year-old daily wage worker, identified as Kolanchi, allegedly killed his wife Lakshmi and her partner Thangaraj, 55, after finding them together.

According to police, Kolanchi attacked the pair in a burst of anger, killing them instantly. He then severed their heads and placed them in bags. In a disturbing twist, he carried the bags nearly 150 km to Vellore Central Prison, where he surrendered to authorities.

Police say Kolanchi had long suspected Lakshmi of being involved with Thangaraj. Reports suggest he was already married to two women, but still grew jealous over his wife’s relationship. Investigators confirmed the victims as Lakshmi and Thangaraj.

A senior officer explained that Kolanchi “severed both their heads when he saw them together.” He added that Kolanchi and Lakshmi belonged to a Scheduled Caste community, while Thangaraj was from the Vanniyar community.

Kolanchi has been taken into custody and is being brought back to Kallakurichi for questioning. A case of double murder has been registered, and police are working to understand the full motive and timeline of the crime.
