Festivals often bring in new hopes, prosperity and good harvest in lives. Pongal is a four-day long harvest festival celebrated mostly in the states of South India, especially in Tamil Nadu. Bhogi on 13 January, Makar Sankranti on 14 January, Surya Pongal on 15 January, Mattu Pongal on 16 January and Kaanum Pongal on 17 January.
