Pongal celebrations at Amaravati Secretariat

Pongal Greetings to everyone on the occasion of Bhogi also known as Lohri. Festivals of India reflect it's unique spirit of Unity and Diversity. One of the reasons to be proud of our country are our festivals.

As part of Sankranthi celebrations, rangoli competitions for women employees were held at AndhraPradesh secretariat in Amaravati, Capital of the state on Wednesday.
 
Festivals often bring in new hopes, prosperity and good harvest in lives. Pongal is a four-day long harvest festival celebrated mostly in the states of South India, especially in Tamil Nadu. Bhogi on 13 January, Makar Sankranti on 14 January, Surya Pongal on 15 January, Mattu Pongal on 16 January and Kaanum Pongal on 17 January.
