England needed 258 runs to win the final day. Australia needed 10 wickets. With this, the two teams fought fiercely. Crawley (77), Stokes (60) excelled with half-centuries. Bairstow (41) impressed. Along with them fought Jack Leach (26) at the end. Cummins dismissed Butler (11) and Wood (0) in the same over. However Stuart Broad (8), Anderson (0) prevented the last wicket. By the end of the fifth innings, England were 270 for 9 in the second innings. The match ended in a draw.
Earlier, Australia declared at 416 in the first innings. England were then bowled out for 294. Australia declared at 265 for 6 in the second innings.
