The Met Office said there will be heavy rains for another three days in AP. Yesterday's typhoon Jawad weakened into a severe cyclone and passed over the Northwestern Bay of Bengal and the adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal at a speed of 20 mph in the last 6 hours and today at 5:30 pm on December 5 at 18kmph. It is located at 7 degrees north latitude and 85 .6 degrees east longitude, 270 km northeast of Visakhapatnam, 90 km southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha), 120 km south-southwest of Puri (Odisha) and Para. It is 210 km southwest of (Odisha).
It continues its journey north-east and weakens into a blizzard, reaching Puri near the Odisha coast in the next 6 hours. It is then likely to continue along the northeast coast of Odisha and head towards the coast of West Bengal. After that it is likely to weaken to extreme low pressure by midnight today. As a result, the state of Andhra Pradesh will receive rains for the next three days, the Met office said. The meteorological department has forecast three days of rains in several districts of North Coast Andhra and Yanam, South Coast Andhra and Rayalaseema.
